The 2007 Mercury Mariner is available in four models: I-4 FWD/4WD ($21,395/$23,145) with an estimated fuel economy of 20/26 and 19/24 respectively; the V6 FWD/4WD ($22,395/$24,145) with fuel economy of 18/24 and 17/22; the Premier V6 FWD/4WD ($24,295/$26,045) at 18/24 and 17/22; and the Hybrid FWD/4WD ($26,430/$28,180) at 34/30 and 27/27.
The standard 153 hhorsepower, 2.3-liter I-4 engine delivers 152 lb.ft of torque. (A 200 hp, 2-liter V6 is also available.) The hybrid is equipped with a 155 hp (net), 2.3-liter, Atkinson-cycle engine with a permanent-magnet electric motor and 124 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Mariner seats up to five-passengers and offers 66.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row. Two-tone, leather-trimmed seats with contrasting Alcantara inserts are available and a heating feature is also an option. The rear seat is a 60/40 split fold.
Safety features abound on the 2007 Mercury Mariner. There are six airbags including driver and passenger front bags, standard seat-mounted front side airbags, and side-curtain bags (with rollover sensor.) A network of sensors customizes the deployment of the front bags based on driver's seat position, weight of the passenger, engagement of the safety belts, and severity of the impact.
