2007 Toyota Prius

The 2007 Toyota Prius is a hybrid 4-door sedan that comes in 2 trim levels, 4-Door Liftback, and Touring versions. It is propelled by a 4-cylinder 1.5 liter gasoline engine that produces 76 hp @ 5000 rpm, combined with a 65 hp AC synchronous electric motor. This combination produces a net 110 hp. The Prius is equipped with an electronically controlled variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The Toyota Prius historically is the most popular hybrid in the world since arriving on the scene in 2001.

The interior of the Prius is roomy, for 4 passengers, and well constructed. The materials are well-tooled and fit with close, even tolerances. The cloth seating materials are sturdy and handsome. Cargo space is generous in the 2007 Prius, with the hatch-back making loading and unloading easy. Both models of the 2007 Prius come standard with power outside mirrors, rear deck spoiler, chrome coated grille, and color-keyed external appointments. The 2007 Toyota Prius offers a number of option packages that include: 6 speaker AM/FM stereo with CD, backup camera, and vehicle stability control.

No sense in saving all that money on fuel if you drive an unsafe vehicle, so Toyota has built its reputation on automotive safety. Among the standard safety features that grace the 2007 Prius, are the driver and front passenger airbags, traction control system, child safety rear door locks, front and rear crumple zones, and anti-lock brakes (ABS).

The big question that faces everyone who considers a hybrid vehicle is, "Will it ultimately save gas and money?" For those who do the math, they discover that driving a vehicle whose city driving mileage approaches 60 mpg and highway mileage approaches 51 mpg can bring savings in the amount of $700-$800 per year. With the life of the $3000 to $4000 battery at 8 years, you would still be saving money. For many people, the opportunity to operate a vehicle that is better for the environment is still reason enough to own a hybrid.
