Rather than fill its empty CEO position, Bentley Motors Inc. has named two of its European executives to oversee the company's North American business interests.
Christophe Georges, 40, and Geoff Dowding, 47, will take charge of Bentley operations in the States. Neither have worked in the U.S. previously.
In January Andrew Stuart, former CEO, left Bentley for a job in Portland, Oregon as COO of Ron Tonkin Family, a line of dealerships.
Georges will now serve as Bentley COO and will work in the Volkswagen headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The French native currently serves as Bentley's managing directory in Europe and is based in Berlin.
Georges comes to the position with nine years experience with the Bentley operation in Europe. Prior to signing on with the company, he worked at Rover Europe in sales.
Dowding will assume the position of Bentley vice president, having previously served as director of worldwide operations. He will continue to be based at the company's global headquarters in the United Kingdom.
Due to a restructuring of corporate operations in May, a spokesman for Bentley said that the CEO position is no longer neccessary. All national operations will now report directly to Dowding.
