Video: 2007 North American International Auto Show
This video footage of the 2007 North American International Auto Show, also known as NAIAS, may be from January, but since it focuses on the best in fresh new designs for the automotive industry, including the EyesOn Design awards and a design assignment for local college students called "My Other Car Is..." as well as offering previews of concept cars - some of which may roll out sooner than you think - there's no way it could be considered "old news."
The 2007 show, which was lauded by Detroit Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick, who called the event, "...the bedrock of our community..." and attended by celebrity car enthusiasts like actor Christian Slater, and former NBA star John Sally, featured presentations by Ford, Jaguar, and Mitsubishi, among others, represents the second year of the event.
NAIAS 2007 also played host to the 14-year-old AutoWeek Design Forum, where speakers included Chrysler's Ralph V. Gilles (vice president, Jeep/Truck and Component Design), Ford's Moray Callum (design director, North America Car), and GM's Robert Boniface (director of design, Advanced Design).
The 2008 North American International Auto Show will open in Detroit on January 19th.
