The fuel price is on the rise, no secret about that, but it is shocking when you realize how quick prices are growing. For the last month, the prices of fuel have been rising by a cent per day at least, without end in sight. So, the national average is $3.79 per gallon today, that's up $.39 from last month.
Mid-grade's up $.41 from the last month — with average $4.02 - 1 gallon — while the premium rose is $.43 to $4.17.
The people filling up with diesel model won't see the relief on the pump as is at the record highs — up with $.35 to $4.48 - 1 gallon, according to the AAA.
E85 unit is averaging with $3.28 a gallon — a rise of $.49 — but the adjusted cost is $4.32 - 1 gallon. E85 costs must be adjusted now as it nets some lower fuel mileage.
While the rise of gas price is shocking, we're perplexed about that soaring diesel cost. Just 1 year ago diesel unit averaged $2.91 - 1 gallon — $.22 cheaper than the regular grade gasoline. With the prices of diesel as high as today, we're not at all sure that diesel units will ever catch here in America — even if they offer better performance plus 20 percent better economy of fuel than the gasoline counterparts.
