Ford is recalling now over 650,000 pick-up trucks F-150 along with the Lincoln Mark LT unit, which shares F-150's platform and the mechanicals. These trucks are found to have the brake hoses that can swell, detach from the intake manifold, meanwhile not all the braking power disappears, stopping the abilities can be reduced as that pedal effort will raise.
Models made for the 2005 and 2006 years having 24-valve 5.4-liter V8 engines are now affected, according to the post on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website today. Owners of the cars will be notified so they can bring them in for the free fix beginning in June.
Ford says that 11 minor crushes were caused by this problem, but no injuries are reported. Over 600,000 of those affected trucks are in the US and around 50,000 are in Canada.
