Lithium-Ion batteries by Chrysler getting tested

Chrysler announces testing a fleet of Sprinter vans with lithium-ion battery. This news comes after similar declarations from Toyota and GM.

The hybrid Sprinter will be in both gasoline and diesel motorization. The tests will occur latter this fall. They will take place in New York and California on 22 Sprinters says Automotive News.

Johnson Controls - Saft producer will be supporting this technology. The company’s aims are safety and reliability, according to JCS’s CEO, Mary Ann Wright, quoted in Automotive News.
