Fiat expands its electric cars line of production. This is possible with the help of Cemig and Itaipu, Italian utility companies that have given Fiat the financial backing to expand their production. The initial batch is made of 30 electric Palio to be sold in Brazil. Their testings will begin later this year.
This project is, as Virgilio Medeiros, one of the engineers, has told World Auto, a proof of the viability of electric cars on emerging markets and a hint for Western markets.
A car will reach $36,000, but the price is expected to come down with the future growing production.
