Finally, after many rumors, Volkswagen has begun testing its "four-door coupe" Passat sedan. Contentious inspired by the higher priced Mercedes CLS, the Passat coupe was photographed in the southwest United States by our spies.
Apparently the auto will arrive in January at the Detroit auto show. The cost will be around 30,000 euros; the high-end model by Volkswagen will keep clear of Audi's A5 - 44,000 euro.
Engine output will start at 160 horsepower via a 1.8 liter TSI. A 2.0 liter turbo diesel will also be included, with 140 horsepower and the price a little higher. A range-topping FSI V6 with 300 horsepower, all-wheel-drive and a dual-clutch transmission at 40,000 euros.
A glass roof, reverse camera, and proximity sensors for parking will be included by special order features.
