Chrysler might drop Mopar, Chrysler Transport

Chrysler is facing financial problems so the carmaker wants to drop non-core assets in the United Auto Worker contract negotiations. Chrysler`s proposition was to shut down or sell its high-performance units division, Mopar, Chrysler Transport too, the department responsible with delivering supplies to Chrysler factories.

The UAW is opposing the divestments as Chrysler Transport and Mopar employ around 1,300 peoples, according to Automotive News. It鈥檚 not clear if the divestments will be in the final agreement.
