Toyota will be working with Sony in making a new one-seater auto. The new vehicle will probably use a few elements from the i-swing concept that Toyota introduced at the Tokyo Auto Show in 2005. Seven researches from Sony will work at one of the robotic facilities own by Toyota, on the next-generation ‘transporter’ project.
Sony will offer its robotics knowledge gained engineering the Qrio and Aibo robots, and has sold some patents to Toyota for the new auto development. Toyota`s new robot-on-wheels is ready to give tours in Toyota City. It can drive around the obstacles, sign its own name and converse with humans, while you enjoy the Toyota Kaikan Exhibition Hall.
