Co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak, was seen, earlier this year, doing 104 mph on Interstate 5 in his Prius. Wozniak says he had been to Athens, Berlin, Canada (three times), Frankfurt, Japan, Moscow, Munich (twice), Singapore, London, Columbia and Zurich within the last year, caused him to use kilometers per hour, not miles. It doesn鈥檛 seem real and the judge saw right thru. He penalized Wozniak with $700.
Wozniak was able to reach this amazing speed, for a Prius, at least, on the way to Las Vegas. It seems the segment of the I-5 where Wozniak was seen has a downward-sloping slant and perhaps it explains the speed with a specified strong tail-wind during that day. The Prius, at that speed, just returns a less-than-green 31-37 mpg. Wozniak owns also a Hummer, so that mileage it鈥檚 not a huge concern for him.
Caught doing 105 mph, Al Gore III still owns the speed record for a civilian Prius.
