During the recent press conference in Frankfurt, John Fleming — Ford`s European CEO said he`s expecting the Ford Kuga to sell out next June, when it hits the market in Europe. `Experience over the last few years has said that if you get the design right, you get the basics right,` said Fleming.
In the present the segment is dominated by the RAV4 from Toyota. Automotive News reports the RAV4 is responsible for 22 percent of the market with 108,466 units sold last year — a 15.9% grow over 2005. Costs have not been unveiled for the Kuga yet. Ford will not sell the Kuga in the United States market.
