The next supercar from Ferrari will be lighter, with a smaller engine and still making at least 500 horsepower. The engine could possibly be the twin-turbo with direct-injection at 550 horsepower 3.0L V8 powerplant which was intended for Millechili concept model— although the show vehicle was made of cardboard, never having such an engine inside.
Apparently the car nicked the `Dino` is in fact a 2+2 car powered by a V8 front-mounted 4.3L. The new vehicle could be unveiled as early as 2008.
Plans for a convertible 599 with hard-top have been delayed due to the 18-month waiting list for the coupe. Until the replacement in 2010, the 612 will run unchanged.
