Toyota will reveal in 2009 an ultra-compact auto based on the iQ concept introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The vehicle will be a small car, efficient in fuel, satisfying Europe`s strict emission regulations. The auto will be made in Japan beginning at about 100,000 units a year.
The iQ will have 2.98 meters in length, this means 80 cm smaller than the Yaris subcompact model. The production variant will poses enough interior room for four people.
Under the hood we`ll find a 1-liter-class engine on gasoline; a diesel option may be also available.
