Audi will be delaying the debut of three new SUVs vehicles until 2009. The three autos — including the Q5 and diesel… and hybrid versions of the Q7 SUV — will be delayed mainly for marketing reasons. It was slated for a late 2008 introduction, but Audi thinks its three new SUV could get lost through year end sales if unveiled then.
The Q5 will compete with the BMW X3 and new Mercedes GLK. A diesel variant of the Q7 will receive a 3.0L V6 making 230 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, having the hybrid using 260 horsepower V6. Apparently all three cars will make their introduction in 2009 at the Detroit Auto Show, as 2010 models, sales starting soon after.
