Jan Thompson will step down as Infiniti and Nissan`s marketing and advertising chief. Neither Nissan nor Thompson gave us a reason for this departure. The replacement for Thompson will be — effective October 8 — with Ben Poore, a group manager in marketing for Ford`s Lincoln and Mercury companies. Thompson had been part of Nissan for three years.
Automotive News reports Thompson was the landing responsible for Nissan Rouge as the official auto of the NBC TV show `Heroes`. Just recently, Thompson had been revealing the new Infiniti EX35 at some invitation-only events.
