Ford will stop production of the Super Duty pickup trucks starting October 8. It will last two weeks and is due to decrease in sales (slumping housing market). The Louisville, Kentucky Super Duty factory will be re-opened for production on 22 this month.
`We are absolutely determined not to let inventories get ahead of demand for anything` George Pipas – Ford sales analyst reported to the Automotive News. Pipas continued by affirming that the production suspension was not linked to Ford`s September results in sales, which were shown yesterday.
The sales representing Ford F-series were down with 20.8% in September, according to Automotive News.
