GM introduces Stolen Vehicle Slowdown

General Motors has a brand new technology for its OnStar system. Called Stolen Vehicle Slowdown, it allows for OnStar advisers, with the proper authorities, to gradually decrease a stolen auto`s engine power, brining it to a stop eventually.

`Technology should not just entertain us or make us more comfortable; it should make us safer` said in a statement Nicole Nason, the administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. `We applaud innovations such as the kind GM is embracing that will make our roads better, our passengers more protected and our drivers safer`.
