Kia Borrego SUV, set to be revealed in January at the Detroit Motor Show, it will compete with established rivals like the Land Rover Discovery. The vehicle is a toned-down variant of the Mesa concept, shown in 2005 at the same expo. It will be bigger than the current Sorento and Sportage SUVs, having space for seven in three rows of seats. V6 or V8 petrol engines 3.8-litre – no diesel announced – both making plenty of torque for its superb towing capacity.
A Kia UK spokesman said: “We’re always keen to respond to customers’ needs. If there is sufficient interest in the Borrego to sell it in Britain, we’ll give it serious consideration”.
