JAS Motorsport`s Civic Type R R3 by Honda will make its grand debut this week, during the Wales Rally Great Britain, the final round in the World Rally Championship 2007. Dani Sola, the former Junior World Champion will be driving the auto in Great Britain; the Civic Type R R3 having its asphalt World Championship introduction on the Catalunya Rally last month in Spain. In that event, Dani Sola won the R3 class, this against some well-established opposition.
Dani Sola affirms: 鈥淕reat Britain is one of my favourite gravel events because the stages really reward commitment. However, we are not underestimating the challenge ahead of us. As a team, we haven鈥檛 competed on gravel since July 鈥� and this new R3 car has never competed on gravel at all. Our mission will be to get the car to the finish and try to prove that we can be as competitive on gravel as we are on asphalt鈥�.
Stefano Fini, the JAS Motorsport`s chief engineer, said: 鈥淥ur new R3 car is now on sale for our customers. The car is fully ready for any 2008 season, and we have already had a lot of interest from several different drivers and teams. We are confident that we will provide a competitive package for our customers, who will become valued members of the Honda family鈥�.
The Wales Rally GB will be running between November 30 and December 2.
