Mazda showed exotic concepts in the past year predicting the shape of future crossovers, SUVs AND sedans. Now, in January, during the Detroit show, Mazda will reveal a concept that`s taking on the green performance right into the sportscar arena.
The Furai – the ultimate Mazda concept with a design fashioned taken from the philosophy that helped shaping the Nagare concept in 2007.
Franz von Holzhausen, the director of design at Mazda in North America, says "Furai purposely blurs boundaries that have traditionally distinguished street cars from track cars. Historically, there has been a gap between single-purpose racecars and street-legal models - commonly called supercars - that emulate the real racers on the road. Furai bridges that gap like no car has ever done before".
