More than 4,300 buyers have secured a deposit, in the very first day of orders, for the American powerful coupe. And more than 6,000 people have deposited with the dealers since orders opened up on Monday, months before this limited Challenger SRT8 edition goes into production.
鈥淭his is unprecedented,鈥� said Mark Mallie, the Challenger Brand Manager 鈥� Dodge Marketing. 鈥淐ustomers were actually coming to us and pushing us, so we thought this was a good time to take pre-sale orders鈥�.
鈥淢ore than half of the orders are HEMI Orange鈥� said Mallie. 鈥淚t鈥檚 been almost 35 years since the last Challenger, and there鈥檚 a lot of interest. There鈥檚 a lot of people anxious for it. It鈥檚 certainly an iconic muscle car鈥�.
