Lotus Project Eagle in showrooms in 2009

Spy photographers captured a test mule for the new Lotus 2+2, called Project Eagle. The Lotus Esprit body covers the brand new mid-engine coupe; meantime the engineers continue to develop. The existence of this project was recently confirmed.

It`s believed that the auto will run with a 3.0L Toyota-sourced V6 making around 300 horsepower. The power will be placed to the rear wheels through a paddle shift gearbox.

Project Eagle should be available in Lotus showrooms in 2009, featuring a convertible variant soon after.
