Ford will trim its next year first quarter production with 7.4%. The carmaker plans to make 685,000 autos in the first 2008 quarter, down 55,000 autos from the same 2007 period. `Clearly with the economy and the sub prime credit and housing being down, we continue to watch that very carefully as we move into 2008` Alan Mulally, Ford CEO, told Automotive News. `Of course, the most important thing we can do is adjust our production to the real demand, which we鈥檝e done very carefully and very decisively during this last year`.
Ford will be cutting the vehicle production by 6% and the truck one by 8%.
