Volkswagen will change the name of the United States Volkswagen of America, Inc. operations to Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. - being effective from January 1st. This change of the name is for including better other brands for VW, such as Lamborghini, Bentley and Bugatti.
鈥淥ur new corporate name allows our individual brands to flourish, while recognizing that we have a common support structure that gives us great strength as we face competitors,鈥� Stefan Jacoby - VW Group of America CEO told Automotive News. 鈥淭he new name Volkswagen Group reflects the much wider array of goods and services we now offer, and prepares us for even more activities in the future鈥�.
The Audi and Volkswagen names will continue operating in America under the names Volkswagen of America / Audi of America.
