Auto Motor Und Sport says Lamborghini`s 2008 production is booked to the full and it will not be raised due to demand. This decision was made by the CEO of Lamborghini who affirmed he doesn`t want his sports autos to share over 10% of the parts with other models from the parent company Audi, to not dilute the brand name.
`We are concentrating on a healthy and controlled growth of roughly 5% per year` Stefan Winkelmann - Chief Executive said in an interview for Thursday to be published.
Sales are up from 2087 units in 2006 right to 2 400 sports cars in 2007. The pretax profit margin of the group was of 10.4% in 2007 in the first half; did not contract that in the second half. `Our first half profit was €26.4m and we booked a double-digit million euro amount in the second half as well` he added.
Winkelmann expects that the sales mix in the current year to be comparable to the 600 Murcielago LP640s and 1 800 Gallardos sold in 2007.
