Recent rumors say Daimler is willing to buy McLaren- even tough the Mercedes-Benz's parent company, Daimler did not confirm this news yet, there are more than one sources that confirm that e deal between the two has already been set. These two companies always had close relations and at in the present McLaren builds up the SLR for Mercedes-Benz and M-B supplies McLaren's racing program with power plants. In addition, Daimler owns 40% of McLaren.
The rumors that Daimler might buy McLaren circulated all around the world since August 2006 and they revived later, in December that year. Moreover, it was said that the two companies will not have any professional connections anymore; Mercedes-Benz will use H.W.A. to develop its future models of the SLR and McLaren is building up its own car- codenamed P11. Nevertheless, all these represent just rumors till now- if the other 60% of McLaren will be taken into Daimler hands, for sure official statements will be made public.
