A new model from Porsche Panamera is to be launched in 2009 which for sure will impress the fans and the consumers that appreciate luxury, speed and style-all brought up in a one-of-a-kind vehicle able to hit up to 300km/h and that hides over 520 horse power. The officials from Porsche considered it is about them that they build a four-doors masterpiece that will wear the signature of the famous badge. The first thing that is striking about the new vehicle is its size- the standard version will weight about 1800 kg and is five meters long and two meters wide (the top line version of 4.8 liter V8 Turbo model will each 2 tons!). The customers will have the opportunity to pick up from 3 different engine choices: a 3.6L V6 with 300hp, a 4.8L V8 with 405hp, and a 4.8L Turbo model with approximately 520hp. The launch of the new Panamera will also give the chance to Porsche to fullfil its commitment to the introduction of a hybrid model using the 3.6L V6 mated to 110hp electric motor- this allows the owners to use any combination of the two engines.
Another choice will be the Audi/Volkswagen-sourced engines such as the V8, V10, and V12 TDI that could represent the source of power for the new Panamera. Moreover, rumors claim that in a few years from now, the V10 engine originally used for Carrera GT will be available. Sales will start around 2009 but in the begining stages only the V8 models will be brought to the market. Another year will pass until the V6 version will be available and only in 2011 we can see on the road the vey-much expected hybrid variant. To be added to this news is the large interior space, very comfortable seats and the adjustable shock absorbers and a number of sports modes to tune the character of the car that come as a bonus to choose.
Pricing for the car will start at around 80,000 euro for the V6 RWD version and can go high up to 125,000 euro for the advanced Turbo AWD model. The company hopes to sell 30,000 units a year and moreover, the workforce will expand by nearly 1,000 to cater for the new Panamera production.
