As claimed by Dick Colliver, the executive from American Honda Motor Corp., Acura is planning to become in about six years a totally different brand, further impressing and bringing on the market new, one-of-a-kind features that hopefully, will put the name of the company together with those of luxury cars.
After launching on the market the Honda new i-DTEC clean diesel, recently there are rumors that say a 2.2 liter diesel will follow together with the redesign Acura's entry-level sedan in the spring of 2009. The i-DTEC-equipped model will debut at first just in Europe and probably, further on, it will be brought also to the RDX crossover next year. Moreover, a V6 diesel is planned to arrive in 2010. Till then, later this year the TL version will debut and the TSX replacement could also be brought equipped with the turbocharged four found in the RDX.
