Best Production Truck at Detroit Auto Show - BMW X6

Only two days after the worldwide revealing, the BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe was called `Best Production Truck` at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at the EyesOn Design Awards. Held every year, the EyesOn Design Awards has major recognizing, automobile design achievement in the industry; recipients are selected from all new concept and from production autos making their unveiling at the Detroit show.

`We are excited to receive this prestigious award; to be acknowledged by such an esteemed panel of judges - each design masters in his own right - is an honor. As the world`s first Sports Activity Coupe, the X6 is a truly innovative automobile design, as is demonstrated in the powerful presence of the vehicle` said Anders Warming, the Head of Exterior Design for BMW, who has accepted this award on behalf of the BMW Group. `BMW will continue to seek dynamic design concepts that push the envelope, create new market sectors and bring the automobile industry in directions it`s never been before`.

The BMW X6`s design mixes the sporting elegance of the large coupe by BMW with the strong presence of the BMW Sports Activity Vehicle, that offers unique abilities and performance - a combination unmatched until now by any other car. It offers the whole DNA of a real BMW Sports Activity Vehicle, interpreted in a new, extremely sporting design.

The EyesOn Design Awards is supporting the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology`s goal of assisting and educating the visually impaired, helping preserve vision by professional and public education and support related eye research.
