Even though noone would have hoped that Porsche would sell besides very fast and lightweight cars, SUV version like the Cayenne model, it has come to reality that nowadays Porsche is selling much more than expected of this successful model- if in the first place, they have hoped for a 20,000 units sold per year, it turned out that actually the rough average number of sold cars is over 40,000 units per year.
But let鈥檚 have a glance over the past and see where did Porsche actually leave from- in the beginning, the brand designed the fastest and best handling sports cars in the world- reason for which it was often criticized for what it represented, especially in the early part of the decade. On the other hand, the Cayenne, when it first hit the market was thought as being a dull SUV, much too heavy to race around the track and much too low to be taken off-road. Despite all this bad analysis and reviews of the critics, the SUV sold actually very well and seems to be quite a success of the company- most probably due to the high Porsche standards- and just now, at Porsche鈥檚 factory in Leipzig, the 200.000th model-the red GTS- was just rolled off. Moreover, the concept of the first Porsche hybrid car seemed quite impossible some years ago, but in the near future it actually seems to become a reality.
