The Chrysler Pacifica was launched as a concept vehicle in 1999 as a luxury minivan. It was a crossover between a minivan and a limousine. The Pacifica could seat six in a combination of four front and two back seats. The passenger seated in the back had a one touch resting place for their feet. The minivan had lots of space in the back and could fit four golf bags there. This concept vehicle inspired the manufacturer to launch a Citadel concept car in 2000 and a crossover vehicle in 2004 which carried the same name.
The second generation Pacifica which was launched in 2004 was a mid-size sports utility vehicle that came in just one version. The model was powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine and was available in front and all wheel drive systems. The following year three versions were introduced; Touring, Limited and the Signature series. While the base model gets a 210-horsepower V6 engine, The Limited, Signature Series and Touring versions are powered by a 250-horsepower V6 engine. The 2004 Pacifica was easy to enter due to the low height and had plenty of space inside. The wide choice of models coupled with the low entry price made the vehicle an attractive choice.
The Pacifica got a changeover in both its looks from outside and inside. The vehicle comes in three forms; Base, Touring and Limited. The vehicle can be bought with front or all wheel drive. The base version can seat five people, has air conditioning, keyless entry, one touch seats, and a stereo system that can play MP3/CD formats. The audio control buttons are on the vehicle's steering wheel. The touring version can seat six people in three rows of seats, also has climate control, and a leather steering wheel. The limited version has climate control, driver's seats with memory, and a brand new stereo system. It also has a cd player located in the dashboard and a DVD system for those seated in the back. The Pacifica is powered by either a 3.8-liter V6 or a 4.0-liter V6 engine.
