The Chrysler Crossfire is a sports car that first originated as a concept version in 2002 and made its debut in 2004. A number of Crossfire components are shared with other Mercedes vehicles, like the compartment where the engine is kept, the nuts and bolts that keep the rear of the car together and the body, which is an improved rendering of the Mercedes C Class. The Crossfire was introduced in the coupe and convertible models. The Crossfire had either 6 manual gears or 5 automatic gears. The sports car that seats two comes in base, Limited and SRT6 styles.
The basic and limited Crossfire models are powered by a 3.2 V6 engine which has 215 horsepower, while The SRT6 is powered by a 330 horsepower V6 engine. The base Crossfire has air-conditioning, a CD stereo system with four speakers, cloth seats and a leather steering wheel. The Limited versions come with leather seats that can be adjusted by the touch of a button and are heated, a system to measure the air in the tires of the car and an Infinity stereo system with 8 speakers. The SRT8 has 18 inch tires in the front and 19 inch tires in the back and Napa pearl leather seats. Though the car has comfortable seating for two adults, getting into and out of the coupe version is not easy due to its top being low. However once one gets into the car there is plenty of room for people to sit. There is very little space to carry luggage and at the most one can carry a couple of grocery or shopping bags.
The Crossfire has side airbags, anti-lock disc brakes and a stability control system. The Manufacturer has added knee airbags for the driver and passenger. The manufacturing of the model was discontinued due to low sales the in The US and Mexico, but the model continues to sell in Europe and Canada.
