The Chrysler Aspen is a sports utility vehicle that made its market debut in 2007. The vehicle was unveiled at the 2006 North American International Auto Show. The Aspen is based on the Dodge Durango, as the Aspen name was earlier used by Dodge between the years 1976-80. The introduction of the Aspen has meant that all the automobile companies in the US have a sports utility vehicle in their ranks
The Aspen comes in only one version, which is the Limited and has the seating capability of 8 adults, with three rows of seats. Though only one version is on the market, the Aspen comes with many options. This allows the customer to get the vehicle dressed up as they like. The Aspen is available with a choice of three engines; a 4.7 Liter V8, which can run on two fuels, The E85 and gasoline, The 4.7 Liter V8, which is for states where the earlier engine cannot be used and the 5.7 Liter Hemi. Though The Aspen is based on the Durango, Chrysler has made a few changes to make the buyer feel the difference.
For the model year 2007, the Aspen has been provided with two engines, the 4.7 Liter V8 or the 5.7 Liter V8. While the Aspen has a five-speed automatic transmission, one can choose between a two wheel drive and a four wheel drive option. The Aspen with the 4.7 Liter can carry 7500 pounds and 5.7 Liter 8950 pounds. The Aspen is equipped with anti-lock brakes and airbags for all passengers. The vehicle is provided with a stability control system that warns the driver in case the vehicle is in danger of rolling over. Also available are pedals that are powered and sensors that help the driver while parking the vehicle.
