Dodge finally launched, this month, its widely anticipated muscle car – the Challenger SRT8. Dodge chose to debut the most expensive unit first, with lesser versions arriving at another date. So, it turns out the standard V6 and V8 models of the Challenger might be revealed a bit sooner than predicted — possibly next month at the New York Auto Show.
When asked when the SXT (V6) and R/T (V8) models would be introduced, Jim Press from Chrysler said Just wait until New York reported Edmunds. He made this comment at the Chicago Auto Show this week, where the SRT8 was unveiled.
The R/T model is expected to have a 350 horsepower HEMI V8 5.7-liter, while the SXT will feature a V6 motor 250 horsepower. Both units will come without those racing stripes that are basic to the paint job of the SRT8.
If the two less expensive autos debut in mid-March, then it would be somehow sooner than the expectation.
