Ford Edge sold almost as Enclave, Acadia and Outlook put together

After some statistics being made, it seems that Ford Edge’s sales almost matched the ones of GM’s Enclave, Acadia and Outlook for the year of 2007. It is also very true that the Lambda-platform crossovers from GM- Enclave, Acadia, Outlook, and Traverse- offer customers much more of a choice in matter of styling and features, but are they as profitable as the model from Ford, the Edge crossover which seems to have a bit of everything? Ford sold 130,400 Edge crossovers, compared to 137,000 for the GM's Acadia, Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave combined, comments AdvertisingAge.
As specialist Kevin Tynan of Argus Research mentioned with this regard, "GM, with three different models, is diluting their marketing dollar.” Ford, with just one model seems to be able to find a more profitable and more comprehensive campaign, he finnaly added. It is not known so far how GM will make its future distribution on its ad dollars once the new Chevrolet Traverse will hit the market. It seems that the new Traverse will offer customers another option for their requests, but will the other models from GM suffer from this within marketing resources? Time is the only one that can tell if the strategy adopted by GM is the best one.
