Mercedes will be presenting at the Motor Show in Geneva five model series, units consuming up to 10 percent less fuel than the predecessors. The company will be presenting the SL-Class, SLK-Class, CLC Coupe and CLS. One vehicle that will make its world premiere will be CL 500 4MATIC featuring permanent all-wheel drive that will be on sale from summer this year.
The two-door auto is equipped with a V8 285 kW/388 hp engine, and in addition to the 4MATIC it has innovations such like the Intelligent Light System plus the preventive occupant protection system PRE-SAFE® as basic.
With a weight of only 70 kilograms, the newly-developed 4MATIC is now the lightest drive system of this kind. The mixed NEDC fuel consumption of the 4MATIC CL 500 is 12.1 liters per 100 kilometers, which brings it at the same level as CL 500 having rear-wheel drive – that`s another advantage of the all-new, highly efficient all-wheel drive system from Mercedes. The 4MATIC CL 500 requires only 5.4 seconds to get from zero to 100 km/h, plus it reaches an electronically limited maximum speed of 250 km/h.
