Maserati has officially unveiled its performance-oriented GranTurismo S unit, following the leak of two pictures online. The GranTurismo was revealed a year earlier at the show in Europe, so it seems that fitting this sportier version will break cover on the same venue.
The GranTurismo S model is powered by a V8 4.7 liter in place of the normal 4.2 liter unit of the GT. Output is of 440 horsepower — a really nice boost from the basic 405 horses.
A high-tech MC-Shift dual-clutch transmission will be replacing the ZF six-speed automatic.
The new high-power Brembo brakes will be improving at stopping distance. The system has front brake discs made featuring dual-cast technology — dual casting of cast aluminum and iron, paired with the aluminum 6-piston mono-bloc brake calipers.
The exterior features some subtle visual enhancements, plus the interior is upholstered with Poltrona Frau leather and the Alcantara for raised luxury.
