Audi unveiled its A4 Avant station wagon 2009 ahead of its debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show. Having the direct base on the all-new A4 Sedan, the Avant is more advanced and larger than its predecessor.
The brand new A4 Avant has 15.42 feet in length, longer with 4.72 inches than the previous unit. The body structure is stronger and much more rigid, yet at the same time is about 10 percent lighter.
The most powerful engine found in the new A4 is the new 3.2 FSI. It makes 265 hp and delivers also 243 lb-ft of torque – meaning all the way from 3000 to 5000 rpm. The vehicle accelerates with the manual gearbox from standstill to 62 mph in just 6.2 seconds. As an alternative from this year onwards, the engine can be mixed with 6-speed tiptronic automatic transmission.
The smaller of these two gasoline engines, this compact four-cylinder 1.8 TFSI, makes 160 horsepower with peak torque of 184 pound-feet.
The three diesels for the all-new Audi A4 are two V6 models and a four-cylinder inline engine. This 3.0 liter mill produces 240 hp with 369 pound-feet of torque right from 1500 rpm to 3000 rpm. The TDI 2.7 engine offers 190 hp featuring 295 lb-ft torque between 1400 and 3250 rpm. And the four-cylinder power plant makes up 143 hp having 236 lb-ft torque between 1750 and 2500 rpm.
