Lotus, the sports auto maker took the wraps off the revised Europa coupe area for this year at the Motor Show in Geneva. The popular `S` unit gets a fresh appearance for this new year, and a brand new SE vehicle enjoys its world reavealing.
These new Europa versions have been especially designed for Europe and will be exclusively sold there from this year鈥檚 June. There鈥檚 no indication of plans for availability in United States.
The Europa has a 2.0-liter mid-mounted turbocharged engine, that鈥檚 tuned in the SE at 222 horsepower with 221 pound-feet torque. Even though Europa is engineered having more relaxed characteristics of driving than Elise and Exige, it still manages to spring up to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds with 100 mph in only 13.0 seconds. The SE unit will hit a maximum speed of an estimated 143 mph.
The Europa offers raised levels of comfort over Elise and Exige. So, the S and SE units are both equipped with the double wishbone race-derived suspension for ride quality and good handling. The sleek bodywork, near the assistance of this flat underbody, is generating positive downforce for providing balance.
The interior of the SE has been updated to have four hides of soft, some lightweight high-grade leather, covering every surface almost. As with all Lotus road cars 2008, the Europa SE and Europa features driver and passenger airbags plus a start button engine as standard. Also the interior included leather sports seats plus it comes as standard having a high quality of the stereo system.
