In the fiscal year 2007, AUDI AG achieved record figures for the production once again, auto sales, revenue plus profit. `We`re looking back on the most successful fiscal year in the history of our company: We have achieved the twelfth consecutive record year for vehicle sales and we were able to increase all of the key financial figures to new record levels 鈥� we call that qualitative growth, since only profitable growth can secure our competitiveness in the long term` said Rupert Stadler, the Chairman of the Board of Management at AUDI AG, at the Annual Press Conference that took place today in Ingolstadt.
With a 5.7 percent rise in car sales, the sales revenue for Audi Group for the 2007 fiscal year reached a new record of 鈧�33,617 million (鈧�31,142)* 鈥� an 7.9 percent increase. With the 鈧�2,705 million (鈧�2,015) operating result, the firm registered important growth - 34.2 percent. 鈥淭his marks the highest profit from operating activities in the history of the company while also providing convincing evidence of the healthy and sustained growth of the Audi Group鈥� said Axel Strotbek, a Member of the Board of Management for Finance and Organization at AUDI AG.
This success is attributable particularly to further improvements in the unit mix through all the sale of the highly exclusive autos like Audi Q7, vehicles from the TT family, Audi A5 and Audi R8 supersportscar. 鈥淭his is reflected especially in the below-average rise in production costs in relation to the sales revenue 鈥� this is what we consider qualitative growth鈥� Strotbek affirmed.
