Ford to reveal five-passenger S-Max Trend at Motor Show in Beijing
Ford announced that it will reveal a five-passenger variant of its European Car of the Year 2007 — the Ford S-Max — at Beijing Motor Show this month. Called the Ford S-Max Trend, all the people mover will lose the third row seating for expanding the cargo room and lower the overall price of the MPV.
“The S-MAX is spacious, safe and convenient but not everyone needs seven seats," the General Manager of Changan Ford Sales Company, Nigel Harris told WorldCarFans. "Introducing a five-seat variant to the S-MAX range makes perfect sense and illustrates Ford's ability to provide Chinese customers with cars and features they want".
The S-Max Trend model will offer customers an extra 6.5 cargo space (cubic feet), compared to the seven passengers variant. Power for the S-Max Trend unit will be sourced from the Ford's 2.3L four-cylinder, making 157 horsepower plus 151 lb-ft of torque.
