Ford is addressing drivers` demands actively for increased visibility featuring the introduction of two all-new features, the Blind Spot Mirror plus the Cross Traffic Alert with Blind-Spot Monitoring System, coming in 2009.
鈥淔ord is delivering innovative features aiding in a better drive experience for the customer,鈥� said Derrick Kuzak, Group Vice President, Global Product Development at Ford. 鈥淭he Blind Spot Mirror and Cross Traffic Alert with Blind Spot Monitoring System are enhancing the customer ownership experience and bringing more value to their purchase鈥�.
Ford will be the first to market with this Blind Spot Mirror, answering clients鈥� demands for greater visibility as they change the lanes or parallel park. This quite affordable mirror technology will launch first early next year and find the way onto many upcoming Ford, Lincoln and Mercury cars as basic equipment.
Ford鈥檚 push to create the Blind Spot Mirror, migrating it across its lineup as a direct response to buyer research, reports Kelly Kohlstrand with theAdvanced Product Marketing and Technology Planning team of Ford. 鈥淲e seek to plan new features that address unmet customer needs,鈥� affirms Kohlstrand. 鈥淐ustomers told us that visibility is important to them and that they specifically desired a more effective outside rearview mirror鈥�.
