Buick will raise its Lucerne 2008 lineup with two brand new models available from April at dealerships. The Lucerne Super and the Lucerne CXL Special Edition reflect the commitment of Buick for bringing a larger variety of premium products in the portfolio.
"Lucerne Super and Lucerne CXL Special Edition epitomize Buick’s new level of refinement and our effort to deliver the vehicles that today’s customers demand," said Jim Bunnell, the general manager at Buick-Pontiac-GMC.
Buick’s Lucerne CXL Special Edition is offering either a V-6 or a V-8 engine – making that the only Lucerne unit to offer this particular choice. The V-6 3.8L equipped Lucerne CXL Special Edition produces 197 hp @ 5200 rpm and 227 lb.-ft. - torque @ 3800 rpm.
For a higher level in performance, Buick is offering an uplevel Northstar V-8 4.6L. It makes 275 hp @ 6000 rpm plus 295 lb.-ft. - torque (400 Nm) @ 4400 rpm. This aluminum 32-valve dual, premium, overhead cam V-8 – especially tuned for Lucerne – is recognized for the technological refinement, quick launch capability and precision.
