`There is always space for better` seems now to be the ideal phrase for the Nissan engineers who`re thinking to improve the GT-R model even though this supercar posted only 7m29 lap time at the Nurburgring. They wanted to add a few tweaks to the auto before they begin delivering in U.S. and Europe. The United States GT-R unit is set for receivingfirmer spring rates, three harder engine mounts and a stiffer transaxle mount.
“The new mounts make the car feel more together in extreme circumstances. We’ve also changed the spring rates front and rear – it’s a minute change, they’re just 0.1kg/sq mm stiffer. But it means the movement of the suspension and powertrain are more perfectly tuned, “ said Kazutoshi Mizuno, the GT-R chief engineer.
According to some official informations, the GT-R unit is and will be always a global auto. This means that all the modifications, made on market will be sent in all other markets eventually. For example, the same changes to the United States models were added also to the Japanese vehicles in just one week right after the first changes were made.
