The intrepid husband/wife team drove a totally standard Peugeot 308 HDi 110 hatchback model on a 25 day, 9,000 mile journey on the coast of Australia. So, during the record breaking trip they broke 2 world records by recording some unprecedented 1192 miles on only 60 liters of diesel fuel plus an average consumption of fuel of 90.75 mpg.
John Taylor, one half of all the economical driving duo now explained this unusual journey: 鈥淲e were very aware of the strong environmental credentials of the 308 before we set out on this journey; but we had no idea, however, that it would be such a record breaker. For us, the Peugeot 308 is the perfect family car; it can comfortably seat five adults and during our 25 day trip, the boot space proved itself too, swallowing up all of our necessary luggage.鈥�
