General Motors announced that it will streamline ahead its operations by shifting that management structure of the four channels 鈥� Chevrolet, Buick-Pontiac-GMC, Saturn, Cadillac-Hummer-Saab. The shift will be moving four of the firm`s five regional managers to General Motors`s Detroit headquarters, eliminating all those positions.
In addition to those changes, General Motors has created also a brand new position of general sales manager for all of its four channels.
The regional manager elimination should help speed the transfer of info within the General Motors hierarchy, thereby streamlining the marketing efforts. "The dealers don't have a regional manager in their region now; they have a general sales manager here in Detroit," LaNeve told the Automotive News. "The way it was, the general manager in the region worked on all eight brands in the region. Now the sales manager in Detroit is only worried about the one channel.鈥�
The changes now will become effective officially on July 1.
