Alfa Romeo is set to launch a hotted-up version of its new Mito supermini in summer 2009.
The Mito GTA will follow the launch of the standard car due to go on sale in the UK next year, and it will feature a 1750cc, 230bhp turbocharged engine. It will include direct injection, variable valve timing and Alfa says it is set to be the most powerful car in the sector.
The 1750cc engine is essentially 'a blast from the past' and it was this displacement that was used successfully in Alfa Romeo Giulia and Giuliettas of the 1960s.
