India is not solely a small-auto market. Audi, the German carmaker with some difference, isn`t planning to stop with its SUVs and sedans in India. With seven dealerships setup already in the Nano-country, Audi plans on expanding that network even further.
Within just a few months, all those dealerships, among the A8, Q7 SUV plus other units will sell this R8 supercar. Sister firm Lamborghini has been operating successfully also in India for sometime... and Ferrari too, has announced the interest in trading inside the country.
鈥淚ndia is an important market for Audi, and there has been a tremendous interest in the Audi R8 up to pre-orders by our exclusive customers in India, so it was inevitable that we launch the Audi R8 here,鈥� Benoit Tiers - Audi India Managing Director affirmed in a statement.
